Stucco is great for a lot of reasons - but it's also really good at holding onto dirt, weather stains, and buildup over time. Most homeowners don't notice how much has accumulated until they're standing right next to the wall. By that point, the grime has usually been sitting there for a while.
That's exactly the situation we walked into out in Sylmar. The stucco walls had streaking, discoloration, and that general dullness that comes from months of exposure to dust, moisture, and everyday weathering. Nothing unusual - but it was definitely time to address it.
Stucco needs to be handled carefully. Too much pressure and you risk damaging the texture or driving water into places it shouldn't go. We adjust our approach based on the surface - using the right nozzle, the right distance, and working in a consistent pattern to pull the grime out without doing any harm. The difference between a careful wash and a careless one shows up quickly on a textured surface like this.
We worked the full exterior - side walls, the back of the home, and the concrete areas surrounding it. Once the surface dried, the stucco looked noticeably cleaner and the contrast against the black window frames really came back. That's usually the moment a homeowner realizes how much of a difference a solid wash makes. No paint, no coatings - just clean.
If your exterior walls, entry areas, or walkways have been looking rough, it's worth getting them looked at. Letting buildup sit too long can make the job harder and, in some cases, start affecting the surface itself. A good wash done right goes a long way.
